Always research road conditions, and if the hot springs are still open, before you hit the road. Even with all the great online sources, books are still a great thing to have, especially when you're on the road or hiking in the boonies!

6/01/2001 - I have done some research and found that there are Fales, Mono, Whitmore and Benton Hot Springs closest to Yosemite.

This is a great little excursion off the beaten path. There are a bunch of redwood hot tubs to use outdoors. During the day, it's by the hour, however it is possible to sleep over and have a tub to yourself for from 6 p.m.
onwards until the morning. Lots of people on motorcycles who were camping or meeting up with friends in SUVs. Okay to drive here with a car, but make sure you have gas!! Can be very windy.
Of all of the hot springs I have visited over the years, Benton will always have a special place in my heart.
The water is wonderful, the views majestic and the people friendly. Living so close to the Napa Valley and the pricey spas in the area, it's nice to go somewhere that is inexpensive and low-key. Whenever I think I have had enough of the hustle and bustle of everyday living; I pack up my dogs, my partner and my gear and head to my little piece of heaven.
