Always research road conditions, and if the hot springs are still open, before you hit the road. Even with all the great online sources, books are still a great thing to have, especially when you're on the road or hiking in the boonies!

When, why and who closed Red's Meadow Hot Springs??? I was there in August only to find them closed. Rumor has it that the USFS closed it for "health reasons." October 28, 2014 espbooks@gmail.com
The USFS has no jurisdiction in this area, maybe the National Park Service?
