I've only included the most relevant and up to date hot springs books below!
Always research road conditions, and if the hot springs are still open, before you hit the road. Even with all the great online sources, books are still a great thing to have, especially when you're on the road or hiking in the boonies!

I have seen several negative book reviews on this spring. The authors visit during the day which is why.
Our experience:
During day the gates from the above resort are closed. Minimal water in the creek, and it is only warm and quite shallow. Fine for daytime use with swim suits for kids. Warning: a local told us his friend was badly cut by broken glass. Suggest wearing boat or tennis shoes in the water. Some people party here, and there are cans and bottles in the parking area. It would be nice if locals could provide trash cans. Short of that, the solution is for all of us who love natural springs to take out more trash than we bring in, which is what we always do and we feel good about doing that. You can park 50 feet from the stream's pools which are in an easy access ditch, with several dammed pools.
Please pick up any trash, and leave the place cleaner than you find it! Fantastic soak at night. Usually gates are opened after 7:30 PM. Easy 2 minute hard surface road access from HW395. Keough exit is about 7-8 miles south of Bishop. Lots of ski and mountain climbing people stop here.
There are several pools so privacy is great. Clothing optional at night, with a few shy souls wearing textile.

Keough Hot Ditch, 3.3 miles South of Bishop on the 395. right under the LAWP high tension lines. 1/4 mile of the highway. You can actually feel the electricity on your skin. They say No Camping, but folks do. Kinda white trashy, but a good water flow, & HOTTER the more upstream you go. & there are about 10 others out in the Owens/Long Valley area on sand/gravel roads.

The "ditch" has quite a few dammed pools, and we locals take out trash daily. The party hardy groups a night leave alot of bottles and such...wish they would learn some courteous manners. Nude is the norm here, daytime and night. Come out to sun and soak...
